A standoff between Utica police and a man who had a woman and children as hostages ended peacefully with
Police responding to a domestic call met Demetrius Williams of Poughkeepsie at the door with a knife, telling officers he had a woman and children with him - including an infant. Williams ran back inside and a hostage negotiator was brought in. The negotiator got the children oiut safe and then Williams agreed to surrender. Police learned a fight between Willams and the woman led to him threatening her and the children with the knife. One child was slightly injured and treated at the scene. Williams faces numerous charges including criminal imprisonment.
