State Senate And Assembly Set To Release Budget Proposals This Week

Albany, N.Y. - It could be a big week for budget negotiations at the State Capitol.

Both the Senate and Assembly are expected to release their own spending proposals in the coming days.

The governor has demanded that legalizing marijuana and making the temporary property tax cap permanent be included in this year's budget. Unrelated to any fiscal policy is a push to end cash bail in the state.

If the legislative spending plans are drastically different than the Governor's it could mean that the budget won't be passed on time.

The State's fiscal year ends March 31st
