Syracuse, N.Y. - Central New York businessman Tony Malavenda is announcing that he's running for Onondaga County Executive.
Malavenda said he has received the endorsement of the Onondaga County Democratic party.
The 62-year-old Liverpool High School graduate attended OCC and graduated from Georgetown University.
He was the co-owner of Duke’s Root Control.
Malavenda will challenge republican Ryan McMahon. McMahon was appointed County Executive late last year after Joanie Mahoney resigned to take a position with SUNY/ESF.
