Syracuse, N.Y. - Victim of a horrific attack will receive 5 million dollars from the Federal Government.
In 2013 David Renz, freed himself from an ankle bracelet and raped a 10 year old girl, and murdered Lori Bresnahan.
Lawyers for the estate of the school librarian and the girl, sued the government for failing to properly monitor Renz, and not investigating when he tampered with the ankle bracelet.
Investigators say he disable and re-assemble the monitoring device over 40 times. He was awaiting trial for child pornography.
The girl who is around 16 now, will receive 3.7 of the 5 million dollars.
The feds still do not admit to
