Man Accused Of Killing Two In Chili's Robbery Not Allowed To Plead Guilty

Syracuse, N.Y. - William Wood the man accused of killing two former Chili's co-workers during a robbery wanted to plead guilty today and spend life in prison.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Melinda McGunnigle denied the 33 year old the chance.

The DA's office would rather federal prosecutors had more time to pursue a possible death-penalty case. So she would not allow Wood to enter a plea. The Judge said the DA's office has that right.

Wood of course was trying to avoid the possibility of death penalty.
