Sylvan Beach, N.Y. - Three ice fishermen are safe after being rescued from Oneida Lake.
It took several firefighters to pull the men to safety yesterday. One of them had called 911 saying he was lost and scared. During the search for him, two other men were found huddled against a shanty.
Officials say the trio didn't take proper precautions and put the lives of first responders at risk in dangerous conditions. They're urging anyone who goes out on the ice to make sure their cell phone is charged and has working GOP, or at the very least bring a compass.
