Syracuse Police Make Drug Bust After Car Chase

Syracuse police make a drug arrest Monday night following a car chase across the city.

Police say officers on patrol tried to stop an SUV on Fage Avenue for failing to stop at a stop sign. The SUV instead sped off to avoid the stop, and officers gave chase for several blocks until the driver pulled over on Oakdale Court and fled on foot. Officers took Edward Pettiford into custody after resisting arrest. A search of Pettiford's vehicle found 50 grams of cocaine, 148 grams of marijuana, and a large amount of cash. Pettiford faces a host of drug and vehicle charges, as well as parole violation.
