Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County's Medical Examiner is no longer on the job.
Dr. Robert Stoppacher had been the top coroner for about a decade. He had been deputy medical examiner since 2004.
Officials are being tight-lipped about the departure. Health Commissioner Dr. Indu Gupta is overseeing the medical examiner’s office.
Autopsies are being done by the county’s staff and contract pathologists.
Stoppacher does have a position with SUNY Upstate Medical University.
