Binghamton, N.Y. - A man who was caught driving a stolen car was killed in gun battle with a State Troper last night outside Binghamton.
Troopers say that one of their own tried to stop a car that had been stolen. The driver of the stolen vehicle sped off and tried to get away. Eventually, he got out of the car on ST-17 in the town of Kirkwood and began shooting at the officer. The Trooper fired back and killed the suspect.
The Trooper was hurt and was taken to the hospital. Officials say that he is expected to be OK.
