Albany, N.Y. - The state Gaming Commission has set the stage for final approval of sports betting at casinos.
The commission gave a preliminary OK to regulations for sports betting -- kicking off a 60-day public comment window before the final vote. If approved, in-person sports betting would be allowed at New York's Native American casinos, including Turning Stone. del Lago Casino in Seneca County along with the three other state-licensed casinos would be given permission.
Sports betting on smartphones would not be allowed under current law.
