Democrats Set To Take Action Against Guns In Albany

Albany, N.Y. - Gun control will be the main item on the agenda for the state Legislature today.

Lawmakers in the Democratically controlled Assembly and Senate are expected to pass legislation that would ban teachers from carrying guns in school.  Schools would still be allowed to have armed security.

Another would allow school officials, police or family members to seek a court order to remove guns from people considered dangerous.

Lawmakers are also set to vote on bills expanding the timeline for background checks and making the sale and possession of bump stocks and guns made with 3D printers.
