Family Of Man Killed While Mowing The Lawn, Are Suing

North Syracuse, N.Y. - Relatives of a man who was killed while mowing the lawn are suing.

In May of last year, 73-year-old Thaddeus Florczyk of Salina was riding his lawn mower, when Shawn Cleary ran him over, throwing Florzyk and his mower several yards, before slamming into a utility pole. Cleary was ticketed for moving from lane unsafely.

The estate is now seeking $2 million in damages on behalf of Florczyk’s surviving nieces and nephews.

The suit alleges that the accident was caused by negligence and carelessness and that the driver failed to operate the vehicle at a proper speed.
