City Common Council Approves Pilot Program To Keep City Sidewalks Snow Free

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Syracuse Common Council has approved a contract to hire a local company to clear snow from city sidewalks.  

The vote was 6 to 1 

Councilor Joe Carni the only councilor to vote against the pilot program. 

Carni had concerns about liability issues for the City of Syracuse. 

JSK Snow Services will start clearing sidewalks on February 1st. 

The agreement with JSK was reached after negotiations with another company feel through.
