There's some good news on the local economy.
The State Department of Labor says the jobless rate in the Syracuse metropolitan area was four percent last month. That's the best performance in any December since 2000. The unemployment rate is up from November's 3.5 percent but down from 5.2 percent in the previous December.
Statewide, unemployment sits at 3.8 percent. Nationwide it's 3.7 percent.
