State Legislature Approves Voting Reforms

Albany, N.Y. - The state Legislature has approved major reforms to New York's voting laws.

Early voting will be an option statewide, while federal and state primaries will be held on the same day.  There's also going to be a cap on the amount of money corporations can donate to campaigns.

Most of these bills had been passed in recent years by the Assembly but were blocked by Republicans in the Senate.  Democrats now have the majority in both chambers.
