New York - One of the two COR Executives convicted for their role in state bid-rigging scheme will remain free for now.
Joseph Gerardi will remain free on bail while he appeals his conviction on federal corruption charges -- a process that could take a year or longer.
Cor Development Executives Steven Aiello and Joseph Girardi were convicted last summer on fraud and conspiracy charges in connection with a bid-rigging scheme involving state development projects. The jury also convicted Gerardi, but not Aiello, of lying to federal authorities.
Gerardi had been scheduled to start serving his 30-month prison term in March. Aiello is also appealing his sentence and the judge still hasn't ruled if he will be treated similarly.
