It took dozens of Syracuse firefighters to get a structure fire on Park Avenue under control early this morning.
Firefighters were sent to the 2-and-a-half story structure 404 Park Avenue at 2:25 am. Due to the building's size and the heavy smoke and fire, some 39 crew members worked to extinguish the fire in about 40 minutes. No firefighters were injured, and all the occupants evacuated themselves. One of the occupants drove themselves to the hospital for evaluation.
Officials say the fire started on the second floor. The cause is being investigated.
