Auburn Police Officer Hits Pedestrian While Trying To Arrest DWI

A pedestrian was accidentally injured by an Auburn police officer Christmas Eve while trying to locate a potentially dangerous DWI driver

The officer was en route to the DWI call on Genesee Street around 10 pm when they inadvertently struck another pedestrian while trying to avoid several teens standing in the road.  Once first responders arrived, officers were able to arrive at the DWI scene where a man had hit four vehicles with his car and then fallen out.  Michael Stanton was found near the scene and was arrested on DWI and multiple other offenses.  Police say the pedestrian's injuries weren't serious and they were not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
