Syracuse Police Officer Arrested For The Third Time in Four Months

Syracuse, N.Y. - New York State Police have arrested a Syracuse police officer and this is not his first arrest.

Troopers responded to a domestic dispute in Clay where they found 34-year-old Ahmad Mims, of North Syracuse.

Mims is accused of refusing to allow a woman to get out of his vehicle and violating an order of protection.

Mim is charged with criminal contempt and unlawful imprisonment.

In September, police arrested Mims twice in one day -- once in Cicero and again in Lake George. Mims' girlfriend claimed he beat her up on two occasions and held her at gunpoint. He is also accused of threatening a friend of the girlfriend’s.  He was charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

He has been on leave from the Syracuse Police Department since then and is on administrative leave with pay.
