Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse city council has approved Mayor Ben Walsh's pilot program designed to keep city sidewalks clear of snow.
No one responded to the original request for proposals from the city but the city kept talking to companies that had shown an interest.
The city found a company to take the job, B and T Landscaping & Lawn Care in North Syracuse.
Greg Loh Director of City initiatives says the proposal is for services not to exceed $170,000.
The new proposal includes close to 40 miles of sidewalks.
The cost will be covered under the Department of Public Works budget and will not cost residents a penny.
