Albany, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo may be making a major announcement about legal pot in next year's budget address.
The New York Post reports aides close to the governor say he could reveal a plan that would legalize marijuana for recreational purposes. Listening sessions have been going on around the state to find out what New Yorkers think of the idea. Some studies show legalizing marijuana could create a market worth billions of dollars.
Right now, marijuana is only legal in New York for medicinal purposes. Vermont and Massachusetts are among 10 states that have legalized recreational use.
