Albany, N.Y. - A new report has been released involving plans to give state lawmakers their first pay raise in decades.
The committee who made the decision says while legislators will see a boost to their bottom lines. In exchange, what they can earn outside of those positions will be limited and lawmakers will lose most bonuses for leadership and committee positions.
Right now, lawmakers make $79,500 a year, but by the time the increases are done, that number will balloon to $130,000 each year.
By 2022, the Governor's salary will increase to a nation-leading $250,000.
