Manhattan, N.Y. - A federal judge has sentenced Syracuse developer Steven Aiello.
U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni sentenced Aiello to three years in prison and a $500,000 fine for plotting to bribe a top aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Aiello faced a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
The 60 year old executive with Syracuse based Cor Development Co. was convicted of conspiracy in March for plotting to bribe Cuomo aide Joseph Percoco.
In addition to his prison time, he was sentenced to two years of supervised release.
He is scheduled to report to prison March 1st, unless a judge allows him to remain free on bail while appealing
