Syracuse COR Developer Gerardi Sentenced to 2 1/2 Years

Manhattan , N.Y. - A federal judge today sentenced Syracuse developer Joseph Gerardi to 2 1/2 years behind bars and a $500,000 fine for his role in a bid-rigging scheme.

That scheme  brought more than $100 million in state construction work to Gerardi's Syracuse firm, Cor Development Co.

59 year old Gerardi, 59, was one of four men convicted earlier this year in a corruption trial connected to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's Upstate economic development initiatives.

Gerardi's partner at Cor Development, Steven Aiello, is due to be sentenced Friday.
