Oneida Sheriffs Arrest Man Who Pretended To Be A Sheriff

Town of Sullivan, N.Y. - An Oneida man is facing charges after impersonated a sheriff's deputy.

Madison County Sheriffs say on Oct. 20, during a road rage altercation with another motorist, 22-year-old Christopher DeFazio was dressed as a security officer and claimed to be a Madison County Sheriff.

He allegedly shined a flashlight into the other driver’s eyes and talked into what appeared to be a police radio pretending to call for police backup.

After the incident, DeFazio contacted 911 to report the other motorist.

He is charged with second-degree impersonation and given an appearance ticket.
