UPDATE 3:22 12/04/2018 : Police have reopened I-81 south at Exit 22/23A/B, Hiawatha Blvd. Park Street/Route 370 ramp also reopened. Traffic still backed up plan on more time or avoid the area.
Syracuse, N.Y. - Interstate 81 south is closed near Destiny USA in Syracuse while police investigate a tip they have received about a recent shooting.
81 is shut down between Hiawatha Boulevard and Spencer Street. The highway could be closed between exits 23A and 22 for up to two hours, according DOT.
The Park Street/Route 370 ramp onto I-81 south is also closed.
Traffic is backed up to the New York State Thruway, traffic cameras show.
AVOID THIS AREA AT ALL COSTS!
