Second Arrest Made In 12-Year-Old's Murder

Syracuse, N.Y. - A second man has been arrested for shooting and killing a 12-year-old in Syracuse in October.

Johanen Pizarro is scheduled to be arraigned this morning for murder, attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the shooting that killed James Springer III.

The Grant Middle Schooler's death is among a rash of violent crime being carried out by and against children in City of Syracuse this Summer and Fall.

Pizarro has a history of run-ins with Syracuse police. Officers say that he spent time behind bars in connection to that massive 2016 Father's Day riot at Skiddy Park where a police officer was attacked

Alberto Pinet had initially been arrested in the days following the shooting but was released after police found surveillance video of him shopping at a convenience store seven blocks away from the crime scene at the time of the shooting.
