Syracuse's Election HQ: Brindisi Is Off To Congress

Utica, N.Y. - Anthony Brindisi is again declaring himself the winner of the 22nd Congressional District race.

The Democrat made the announcement yesterday after absentee ballot counting showed he had an insurmountable lead over Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.  He now has a nearly 4,000 vote lead, with only 1,800 absentee ballots in Oneida County left to be tallied.

Official certification of the election is not expected until after the holiday.
