Syracuse, N.Y. - Today is the first day on the job for former Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney.
Mahoney takes over as Chief Operating Officer of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
She will oversee the management and operations of the campus and report to the Interim President David Amberg. She will also serve as a member of the senior leadership team.
In addition, Mahoney will provide advice to SUNY on community relations matters impacting two Syracuse-area campuses, ESF and Upstate Medical University.
As ESF COO, Mahoney's salary will be $209,000 a year and because of her SUNY advisory role, will receive an additional salary of $15,000 a year.
