Geddes, N.Y. - A woman is fighting for her life after crashing her car on 690 last night, triggering a multi-vehicle crash.
Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies say that a woman in her 20s was driving her Ford sedan west on I-690 when she hit a guardrail near the Fairgrounds Exit. Moments later her car was hit head-on by a Chevy pickup truck. A Mercedes Benz was also involved in that second crash.
The driver of the Ford was rushed from the scene to the hospital with critical injuries. The couple in their 40s that was in the pickup and the young woman driving the Mercedes were not hurt as bad but were still taken to the hospital.
Part of 690 had been shut down for several hours as investigators tried to figure out what caused the first crash. They still don't know what caused it, but they have reopened the highway. No tickets have been written.
