Syracuse Man Arrested After Trying To Rob A Man At Gunpoint

Syracuse, N.Y. -  Syracuse police made an arrest yesterday in regards to an attempted robbery in broad daylight.  

A little before 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 1900 block of Grant Blvd. where they met with a 32 year old male who reported he had been approached by a male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight around his face. The victim reported the male pointed a handgun at him and demanded the victim’s car keys.  The victim refused to give his keys to the suspect.  A citizen witnessed the incident and called 911.

Police located the suspect, 17 year old Ryan Horner, of Syracuse, and took him into custody without incident.The police recovered the weapon used in the crime which was a BB Gun.  

Horner is charged with Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.
