Halloween Safety Tips

Halloween is here and keeping kids safe should be top of mind.

Pedestrian injuries are the most common injuries to children on Halloween.

If you are on the road tonight slow down and be on the look-out for kids darting into the road.

Parents, if your kids are out, be sure that they are wearing a costume that allows them to be seen. Officials recommend adding reflective tape to costumes and trick-or-treat bags. You can also have them carry a flashlight with fresh batteries.

It's also best to have children trick-or-treating in groups, under the supervision of an adult or two.

Before heading out, review how to call 9-1-1 with children if they ever have an emergency or become lost.

At the end of the night, it is also wise to look over your children's candy.
