San Francisco - Longtime San Francisco Giants broadcaster Hank Greenwald has died at 83.
Greenwald was a graduate of Syracuse University whose career began with SU Football and the Syracuse NATS. He spent 16 seasons as the Giant's play-by-play broadcaster. He left for a two-year stint with the New York Yankees and returned to the Giants until 1996 when he retired.
Greenwald also called games for University of San Francisco basketball, Triple-A baseball in Hawaii, and the Golden State Warriors.
The Giants say he died Monday after battling heart and kidney complications.
