Town of Dewitt, N.Y. - Dewitt police reached out to the public for help in solving a couple of burglaries at local businesses yesterday. They received tips right away, and by 4:30 yesterday afternoon had arrested the suspect.
21 year old Shane D. Barber of Syracuse was taken into custody. When police arrested him he was wearing the exact same clothing and sneakers that were used as a description based on the surveillance video. He also had a checkbook form one of the businesses in his pocket.
Police conducted a search of Barber's apartment and found the mask he was seen wearing in the videos and other items form the multiple burglaries.
Barber has been charged with 3 counts of Burglary, Criminal Mischief and 1 count of Grand Larceny and Petit Larceny.
