Syracuse, N.Y. - Services begin today for the 12-year-old gunned down in Syracuse last week.
James Springer III was shot Wednesday night near the corner of John and Park Streets in Syracuse. Calling hours for the Grant Middle School 6th grader will be held on today from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home in East Syracuse.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 9 at St. Matthew's Church. A burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Minoa.
22-year-old Alberto Pinet was arrested Friday for the boy's murder. Investigators say that the boy was not the target of the shooting.
