12-Year-Old Dies After Northside Shooting

Syracuse, N.Y. - A 12-year-old boy in the Northside is Syracuse's latest homicide victim.

About a dozen shots were fired around 9:35 p.m. near Park and East Division streets. Syracuse police say that the boy was hit in the stomach. He was taken first to St. Joe's, then to Upstate where he died.

A woman in her 30s was also grazed by a bullet in the hail of gunfire. She is expected to recover.

Police say there is a lot that they don't know about what led up to the shooting.

This is Syracuse's 17th homicide this year.
