Syracuse, N.Y. - A DeWitt man rejected a plea offer in a murder case today.
Lester Shaffer, 37, is facing a first-degree murder charge, accused of killing Lyle Lyons during a drug robbery at the Midler Meadows mobile home park, in December of 2017.
If he accepted the plea he would have gone to jail for 25 years to life. He now faces life in prison without parole if convicted.
A variety of evidence has linked Shaffer to Lyons' murder including an item of Lyons' that was found with Shaffer's DNA on it. Shaffer's trial is scheduled to begin Dec 3rd.
