Town of Salina Man Arrested For Injuring An Infant

Town of Salina, N.Y. -  Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Town of Salina man and charged in connection with causing serious injuries to an infant.

August 22nd, at approximately 6:15 am, sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Hyland Drive for an unconscious infant. The male infant was transferred to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital where he was evaluated by doctors, who discovered that the infant suffered from a severe hemorrhage to the brain along with other injuries. 

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Abused Persons Unit were immediately notified and responded to the hospital.

As a result of the investigation, detectives charged 22 year old Matthew Brennan of Hyland Drive with Reckless Assault of a Child and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He was arraigned and in jail on $2500 cash $5000 bond.

The infant has since been released from the hospital and is still recovering from his injuries, which will require long term medical care.
