Syracuse Police Make Cleveland Arrest For September Homicide

Syracuse police get the help of US Marshals to make an arrest in a homicide from mid-September.

Officers found 26-year-old Zyree McMullen late the night of September 14th with what turned out to be a fatal gunshot wound to the abdomen.  McMullen died a few hours later in a Syracuse hospital.  The investigation into McMullen's murder included a neighborhood canvass, several interviews, and evidence found at the scene.  Detectives identified 25-year-old  Amir Williams as a suspect in the shooting.  With the assistance of US Marshals, Williams was located in Cleveland and arrested.  He was returned to Syracuse where he is charged with second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
