Two Chittenango Women Accused Of Welfare Fraud

Lenox, N.Y. - Two Chittenango women are accused of ripping off welfare.

Madison County Deputies say that Lisa Janaskie and Danielle Cummings were arrested in a recent crackdown.

Janaskie is accused of not reporting income to the Madison County Social Services and bilked taxpayers out of $1,300 between January and June of this year. Cummings had a similar scheme where she took more than $2,500 from the taxpayers she wasn't eligible for between February and May.

Janaskie and Cummings are both scheduled to appear in Lenox Town Court later this month.
