Syracuse University Student Being Treated For Meningitis

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse University says one of its students is being treated for bacterial meningitis.

Medical Officials say that person has left campus and is being treated at a hospital.  Since meningitis can be contagious, S-U is giving antibiotics to students who may have been in close contact with the infected person.

Most people with meningitis, a potentially deadly inflammation of brain and spinal cord membranes, recover in a few days.
