Ryan McMahon Set To Become New Onondaga County Executive

Syracuse, N.Y. - It's official Ryan McMahon will be the new Onondaga County Executive. 

In a 15 - 2 vote McMahon became the 4th County Executive. He takes over as Joanie Mahoney leaves the position to take over duties as COO for SUNY ESF and assist with Upstate Medical University. 

Within hours of Mahoney's announcement, McMahon announced his interest in filling the vacant seat. 

The only 2 negative votes were Democrats Tom Buckel and Chris Ryan.  McMahon will fill out the remainder of Mahoney's term til 2019.

Mahoney had officially handed in her resignation letter this morning.
