Albany, N.Y. - A State Senate committee is holding a public hearing today on the governor's order giving parolees the right to vote.
Lawmakers will look at the state's current parole standards and Governor Cuomo's decision to issue conditional pardons allowing people convicted of crimes to cast a ballot. The governor said back in April he thought it was wrong to deny those who have served their sentence their constitutional right to vote.
Today's hearing will be at the Legislative Office Building in Albany.
