COPS: Syracuse Man Was High When He Stabbed His Nephew

Syracuse, N.Y. - A 7-year-old boy is recovering after being stabbed by his own uncle.

Syracuse Police say the boy was stabbed in his arm by Maurice Maddox Saturday Morning, while he was high. After stabbing his nephew he ran out of the Brighton Ave home and was found by police not far away cutting himself with a broken piece of glass.

Police found Maddox with the knife he had used to stab his nephew and marijuana. 

Maddox is being held at the Justice Center. He is charged with assault, pot and weapons possession, and endangering the welfare of a child.
