Madison County, N.Y. - State Police are investigating a fatal crash this morning in the town of Smithfield.
State Police say Miller Wade was traveling north on Buyea Road when the vehicle exited the road struck an embankment, went airborne, struck a tree and came to rest in a ravine. Wade was airlifted to Upstate hospital in critical condition.
A back-seat passenger, Trevor Rice of Oneida was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another passenger Brett Moyer also from Oneida, was extricated from the car and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.The investigation is continuing.
