Rome Man Shot Twice With Pellet Gun By A Friend

Rome, N.Y. - Last night around 8:30 the Rome Police Department responded to the 100 block of S. Madison St. for a report of a possible shooting.  When they arrived they found a 34-year-old male victim suffering from two apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim and witnesses on the scene said the man was walking from Burger King when he was struck two times by an unknown assailant. He suffered a puncture wound to his upper chest and also to his back. He was taken to the hospital.  

As police investigated they found out that was shot twice with a pellet gun by one of his two friends. The three friends were apparently playing video games in a nearby apartment when the victim went to Burger King to get food. When he left on foot, the other two grabbed a pellet gun,and shot at the victim from a porch, once while he was walking there and then once while he was walking back to the apartment. 

When the victim was struck the second time he fell to the ground and his friends rushed to see if he was alright. They contacted 911, and the three of them decided to tell police they didn’t know who had shot him. .

The victim is in stable condition, but isn’t cooperating with the investigation. 

No arrests have been made at this time but charges could be pending.
