Syracuse, N.Y. - Last night around midnight, Syracuse Police investigated a report of a threat to a school posted on social media.
A parent reported seeing a posting and a video where a juvenile was making threats to shoot people at Grant Middle School. The juvenile also made threats of harming himself as well.The parent also reported the juvenile possessed a black handgun in the video.
Officers were able to identify the juvenile, and responded to his residence where they met with him and his mother. They took the juvenile into custody without incident, and recovered a black BB gun from the home.
As a result police charged a 13 year old male with Making a Terroristic Threat.
Due to the juvenile making threats of self-harm, he was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation. He was released to hospital staff and his mother, pending a future date in family court.
