New York - The man once considered the most powerful man in the State is heading behind bars.
Former State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was denied bail as he awaits his appeal of a seven-year prison sentence.
Silver was convicted for a second time in May of selling his office for millions of dollars. His first conviction was overturned after the U.S. Supreme Court redefined what constitutes public corruption.
He was retired and convicted again this year and is expected to head to prison next month.
