Syracuse police make an arrest Tuesday night at the scene of where a man was slashed in the face.

Police accuse 25-year-old Leveantria Mathis for the attack, which was shortly before 9 PM on Lodi Street. Officers responding found the victim with a large cut on his face.  Witnesses at the scene pointed out Mathis, who was nearby, and he was arrested after a brief chase.  Police believe Mathis and his victim knew each another, but there is still no motive or reason for the attack.
