Man Dead Following Northside Shooting

Syracuse, N.Y. - A man is dead following a shooting on the Northside. 

Syracuse Police say the shooting happened about 3:00 a.m. Tuesday on Kirkpatrick Street -- near the Cathedral Candle Company. 

The man died after being found by police officers at the scene where they found a gun. Detectives are investigating if the shooting was criminal in nature or self-inflicted. An autopsy by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to determine the cause of death.

Investigators are still on the scene.
